Hey y’all. I haven’t been posting a lot, so here’s a bit of catch up:
I’ve been hosting the Monday Morning Breakfast Blend on WRIR 97.3 Richmond Independent Radio from 6-8am on alternating Mondays. I post upcoming shows on my events page, so look out for those.
I joined the Richmond branch of the Industrial Workers of the World.
I’ve been working on Stephanie Rizzi’s campaign for 5th District School Board Representative in Richmond, VA. I’m the social media lead for the campaign. It’s been such a bright spot in these times — working with a group of people who have each others’ backs toward a tangible goal in our community.
I’ve been learning, practicing, and recording ballads. Mostly acapella, and mostly Appalachian ballads with origins in Britain, but other kinds too. I want to release a whole album of these soon.
I’m still selling patches, zines, pins, etc. in my shop. I feel guilty for not adding anything new in a long time, but I recently got an iPad and have been working on designing posters that I’ll be printing and making available…hopefully soon? Keep an eye peeled for that if you’re interested.
Pandemic life is hard and I often feel hopeless and paralyzingly uncertain. I’ve been connecting with folks via FaceTime/Zoom and letters a lot more than normal. If you’d like to be pen pals during this fucked up time, hit me up.
Re: this blog — when COVID hit, it got hard for me to update regularly. I’ve been working on catching up on reviewing new music — it’s probably not gonna be weekly, maybe more like monthly, but I’ll get there. I miss it.
